BlackRock’s Eduard Ruijs is set to join commodity trading giant
Ruijs, who is managing director and head of EMEA for BlackRock’s global infrastructure funds, will join Vitol in May, the company said in a statement Thursday.
Widely regarded as the biggest independent trader of crude oil, Vitol is getting into renewable assets as tight global energy supplies and climate change push countries to accelerate a transition to cleaner forms of fuel. The company has invested over $2 billion in sustainable projects and has a pipeline of potential new ones, it said.
