California Delivery Drivers Win New Shot at Class, Break Claims

A group of delivery drivers in Los Angeles who said their employers failed to adequately reimburse their driving-related expenses won reversal of rulings dismissing rest period and Private Attorneys General Act claims, but they failed to convince a California appeals court that they deserved class certification.

The drivers, who delivered automobile parts throughout Los Angeles County using their personal vehicles, filed two suits against automobile part maker Warren Distributing Inc., and the agencies through which Warren had hired the drivers, including Street City Logistics.
