The finalized 2022 Form W-4S, Request for Federal Income Tax Withholding From Sick Pay, was released Dec. 22 by the Internal Revenue Service.
Form W-4S is to be filled out by employees and given to third-party payers of sick pay to withhold federal income tax from third-party sick payments. The form’s tax rate schedules and standard deduction amounts were updated for 2022, but the form was not otherwise significantly revised from the 2021 version.
Form W-4S is to remain in effect until it is changed or revoked by the employee, instructions on the form said.
