Indonesia Increases Health Insurance Wage Base

The maximum amount of monthly taxable wages used to calculate Indonesia’s health insurance contributions is to increase Jan. 1, 2020, the country’s government said in a regulation.

The monthly wage base is to increase to 12 million rupiah (U.S. $863.05), up from 8 million rupiah (U.S. $757.36), the government said in Regulation No. 75 of 2019 (Indonesian).

Private-sector employers are generally assessed a health insurance contribution rate of 4% and employees are generally assessed a contribution rate of 1%.
