Labor Department Extends Comment Period on Tip-Pool Proposal

The deadline for comments on the Labor Department’s tip-pool was extended to Dec. 11, the department said Dec. 9.

The department extended the deadline from Dec. 9 because of problems with the website www.regulations.gov, the department said in a
news release.

Under the proposal (RIN: 1235-AA21), employers, managers, and supervisors would be barred from keeping tips that employees receive, with penalties up to $1,100 for violators, the department said.
