Netherlands Releases Key 2020 Social Tax Contribution Rates

The Netherlands’ 2020 employer and employee contribution rates for several types of insurance, including old-age pensions, disability insurance, and unemployment insurance, were released by the country’s labor ministry Nov. 14.

Starting Jan. 1, 2020, the unemployment insurance contribution is to be separated into a low contribution, paid by employers for employees that have permanent contracts, and a high contribution, paid for employees without permanent contracts. The low contribution is to be 2.94%, while the high contribution is to be 7.94%, compared to the 2019 single unemployment contribution of 3.6%, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment said in a notice...
