New Mexico County to Raise Minimum Wage in 2021

Oct. 15, 2020, 4:11 PM

The hourly minimum wage in Bernalillo County, N.M., is to rise by 15 cents Jan. 1, the Bernalillo County Commission said Oct. 14.

The rate, which is to increase to $9.35 from $9.20, applies to employees who work in the unincorporated areas of the county, outside the city limits, the county said on its website.

Tips can be counted toward minimum wage.

For employees who receive health-care or child-care benefits of at least $2,500 during a pay period, the hourly rate is $1 less than employees who do not receive such benefits, the county’s minimum wage ordinance said.
