Employers must prepare for a variety of changes to the payroll landscape as federal and state agencies grapple with the long-term effects of the coronavirus pandemic, payroll professionals said March 15.

The pandemic has affected unemployment taxation, nexus guidelines, and paid leave requirements. Employers must keep track of virus-related developments to implement effective compliance strategies, the professionals said at the American Payroll Association’s online Capital Summit.
