Prince Edward Island to Raise Hourly Minimum Wage April 1 by 5%

The hourly minimum wage in Canada’s province of Prince Edward Island is to be C$12.85 (U.S. $9.72) starting April 1, 2020, up from C$12.25 (U.S. $9.26), the provincial government said Nov. 8 in a news release.

The upcoming increase of 60 Canadian cents (46 U.S. cents), which represents a rise of about 5%, is to be lower by percentage and by number of Canadian cents than the increase that took effect April 1, 2019, when the hourly minimum wage rose by 70 Canadian cents (53 U.S. cents) and by about 6% from the previous amount of C$11.55 (U.S. $8.73)....
