Vermont Issues Unemployment Benefit Charge Reliefs

Vermont unemployment tax rates are not to increase after former employees receive benefits related to the new coronavirus, under a measure signed March 30 by Gov. Phil Scot (R).

Under the measure (H. 742), employers are not to be charged after former employees voluntarily separate because they received a diagnose that they had contracted the virus, which causes the respiratory disease Covid-19.
