Washington Releases 2019 Unemployment Tax Rates

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Washington’s unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to range from 0.13 percent to 5.72 percent, unchanged from 2018, a spokesman for the state Employment Security Department told Bloomberg Tax on Dec. 6.

New employers are to be assessed for 2019, unchanged from 2018, an unemployment tax rate generally equal to 90 percent of the applicable average unemployment tax rate for employers in their industry category.
