The US Departments of Labor and Health are advancing their partnership to address child labor exploitation, the agencies announced Friday.
The memorandum of agreement between the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division and HHS’ Administration for Children and Families aims to enhance protections for underage workers, maximize the enforcement of the Fair Labor Standards Act’s child labor protections, and provide connections to benefits and services, according to the departments.
The Labor Department and the Department of Health and Human Services are seeking to collaborate further on information sharing, coordination, training, and education, HHS said.
