Bipartisan AI Framework Open to Changes, Key House Democrat Says

A House Democrat leading a bipartisan framework on artificial intelligence voiced a cautiously optimistic tone despite emerging opposition to the effort and legislative timing constraints.

Rep. Lori Trahan (D-Mass.), who released the high-profile proposal last week with Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-Calif.), said she’s hopeful for action this year to address the “urgent need” for federal regulation that tackles frontier AI development.
