A federal indictment charging a lawyer for LGBTQ+ rights group Lambda Legal with making a false statement in connection with alleged judge shopping has been dismissed, according to a filing by defense counsel in the case.
The order dismissing the indictment is sealed and doesn’t appear on the docket. The defense filing referencing the sealed order of dismissal provides no further information. Lawyers for defendant Carl Charles didn’t immediately respond to an email requesting comment, nor did the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama.
