Kirkland & Ellis advised Metallica on the heavy metal band’s acquisition of a majority stake in Furnace Record Pressing, one of the biggest US makers of vinyl records.
Metallica made the transaction through its affiliated growth equity and content investing platform Black Squirrel Partners, according to a statement. Black Squirrel’s managing partner and co-founder is Paul Donahue, the former Morgan Stanley managing director and Americas head of equity capital markets.
