Auto Parts Maker’s $1.3 Million Federal Safety Fine Gets Review

Auto parts maker Joon LLC will get a second chance to challenge OSHA’s effort to fine the company more than $1 million following the death of a 20-year-old worker in an Alabama factory.

The Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission announced Friday it will review an administrative law judge’s decision approving more than $1.3 million in fines against the Korean company, also known as Ajin USA.

The worker died in 2016 when she was crushed by robotic machinery that hadn’t been adequately deactivated before beginning maintenance on it.
