The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $198,667 in penalties after finding PRIDE Industries allegedly exposed workers in Fort Campbell, Ky., to safety violations, the DOL said Friday.
The lawn service contractor willfully allowed workers to operate zero-turn radius mowers without belt guards installed and on slopes steeper than 15 degrees, a tractor without a cover on the power take-off or PTO shaft, and mowers with shoot guards in a tied up position, the department alleged.
