The Trump administration is modifying rules for tariffs on copper products coming into the US, making it easier for importers to qualify for preferential treatment tied to metal produced domestically.
In a proclamation published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, the government adjusted tariffs on aluminum, steel and copper imports. It left unchanged a 50% tariff on certain copper products while lowering the threshold for products considered as being made entirely from US copper.
