EU States Support Digital Tax Talks Into 2021, Council Says

A body of EU leaders affirmed its support for the OECD’s digital tax project and urged the European Commission to keep the global negotiations in mind as it works on its own proposal.

The Council of the European Union confirmed its support for the 137-jurisdiction negotiations, it said Friday.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is leading talks on overhauling global tax rules and agreements to better address digital business models, aiming for consensus by mid-2021 after countries were unable to agree this year.
