IRS Appeals Office Staffing Is Rebounding, Its Chief Says

The IRS office that helps taxpayers resolve disputes with the agency hopes to have brought on 240 new staff by the end of the fiscal year, its chief said.

The Internal Revenue Service’s Independent Office of Appeals has “quite a seasoned workforce,” so some of the new hires will offset retirements, Donna Hansberry said during a webcast on her office’s activities.
