The South Centre is calling for reforms in the governance of the international tax system, with the aim of taking into account concerns of all countries in a transparent manner.
The intergovernmental body published its feedback Friday to the UN General Assembly resolution 77/244 on promoting inclusive tax cooperation. The UN adopted the resolution last December to extend its work on international tax with a “framework or instrument,” but didn’t specify how.
The UN resolution comes as countries are working to complete and implement the OECD-led global tax deal, which some governments have said won’t benefit developing countries enough. ...
