‘Sunday School Killer’ on Death Row Fails to Upend Conviction

An Oklahoma woman sentenced to death after being convicted of the 2001 murder of her estranged husband failed to establish grounds for a new trial or resentencing, a federal appeals court ruled.

The US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit rejected Brenda Andrew’s argument that the admission of her deceased husband’s statement to the police that he suspected Andrew and her co-defendant had cut his brake lines denied her right to confrontation.
