Centerview’s Tony Kim Says AI Changes Pace, Structure of Deals

The pace of advances in artificial intelligence is changing the structure of how deals are getting done in the space, according to Tony Kim, Centerview Partners’ co-president of investment banking.

“These deals are being driven by AI time. It’s changing every month. You don’t know where it will be in three months,” Kim said on Bloomberg Television. “How could you possibly set up for a deal that could take 18 months to close? That’s why you’re seeing this pivot to partnership type transactions and that really has become more of a norm in the AI field.”
