NCAA, Athletes Must Fix Roster Limits in $2.8 Billion Settlement

The NCAA and current and former student athletes must fix parts of their proposed $2.8 billion antitrust settlement before a final determination can be made, a federal judge said Wednesday.

The proposed settlement’s provisions aimed to limit team roster sizes will result in harm to a “significant” number of members of a proposed settlement class, Judge Claudia Wilken said in an order in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The parties must modify these provisions so that proposed class members won’t be harmed.
