Turkey Probes Netflix, Disney+ for Anti-Competitive Practices

Turkey’s competition authority initiated a probe into major streaming platforms, including Netflix Inc., Disney+, and Amazon’s Prime Video, following findings about potential breaches of competition law and discriminatory practices favoring in-house productions.

Preliminary findings suggest the platforms may have engaged in exclusive agreements and other anti-competitive practices with content providers, including producers and distributors, the Competition Board said on Sunday. The practices may also have been unfair to actors, directors, and screenwriters.
