OpenAI Hires Three Staffers From Mira Murati’s AI Startup

OpenAI has hired three staffers from Thinking Machines Lab, the artificial intelligence startup led by former OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati.

The new hires are Barret Zoph, Luke Metz and Sam Schoenholz, OpenAI executive Fidji Simo said in a post on X. “This has been in the works for several weeks, and we’re thrilled to have them join the team,” she wrote.

In her own post on X, Murati saidthe company parted ways with Zoph and that Soumith Chintala will be the startup’s new CTO.
