Europe Wants a Map to Help Spot Private Credit Risks, EBA Says

European authorities are working to map out connections in the financial system between traditional lenders and other intermediaries such as fast-growing private credit funds, as they seek to gain a better understanding of potential risks.

“We still have a big black hole” as regards information on non-banks, Jose Manuel Campa, chair of the European Banking Authority, said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. Officials are engaged in “mapping of how that overall sector is working, what the inter-linkages are and what potential vulnerabilities may be there.”
