Fed Pick Warsh on Lower Rates, Balance Sheet and ‘Regime Change’

Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Federal Reserve, has called for lower interest rates and sweeping changes at the central bank that would include reducing the size of its balance sheet and rethinking economic models.

A former central bank governor, Warsh is hardly a stranger to Fed watchers and investors. Known as a hawk who advocated for higher rates during his time as a board member from 2006 to 2011, Warsh has more recently become a supporter of low borrowing costs, in line with what Trump has been pushing for.
