‘Rogue Trader’ Nick Leeson Hired by Risk Technology Firm HedgX

Nick Leeson, the former derivatives trader who brought down Barings Bank, has joined risk technology company HedgX as an advisor.

Leeson, who gained global notoriety after racking up hidden losses of around $1.4 billion at the bank in the 1990s, joined HedgX on Oct. 12 as a non-executive advisor. He will help advise the company on risk governance, oversight and business development, said Domantas Mocevicius, co-founder of HedgX.
