US Reviewed Allegations Against Staley, Black in Epstein Case

Prosecutors reviewed allegations of sexual misconduct against former finance executives Jes Staley and Leon Black at Jeffrey Epstein’s New York residence, according to documents recently released by the US Justice Department.

An unidentified woman alleged that Staley, a senior executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co. at the time, raped her after forcing her to touch his genitals, according to an internal memo prepared in December 2019 by federal prosecutors.

Staley, 69, went on to become chief executive officer of Barclays Plc, but his repeated attempts to downplay his dealings with Epstein ended his career at the British bank. He ...
