Genesis Healthcare Inc. cautioned against the federal government’s call for a trustee to take over the nursing home operator’s bankruptcy proceedings, saying the move would undermine the law and its efforts to sell the business.
Genesis is at a critical juncture of its Chapter 11 case, which could be upended if the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas ousts its current leadership and restructuring advisers, the company said in a filing Monday following its approval last week of a nearly $1 billion sale.
