Guyana on Thursday ruled out negotiations with Canadian joint venture partners, Frontera and CGX Energy, over the Corentyne Block, maintaining that the license has expired.

Bharrat Jagdeo told a news conference that “you can’t negotiate on something you actually don’t have” and that government was not obligated to inform the co-venturers that they no longer have rights to the area - He said if the joint venture partners have a different interpretation, “we will go through the legal process”
