Lucid, Nvidia Team Up on Driverless Technology for Consumers

Lucid Group Inc. is partnering with Nvidia Corp. to develop a fully autonomous vehicle platform, as it races to become one of the first automakers to build a passenger car that requires no supervision from drivers.

The partnership will start with building more advanced driver assistance technology for Lucid’s existing Gravity SUV, the EV maker said Tuesday. Eventually the goal is to use Nvidia’s new, more advanced DRIVE AV platform, which includes a sensor suite of cameras, radar and lidar, to develop level four autonomous vehicle capabilities, where the car can handle all driving tasks.
