The Archdiocese of New Orleans announced a settlement with a committee representing child clergy abuse survivors and insurers, after claimants who were against the deal dropped their objections.
Survivors who previously filed a motion to dismiss have agreed to new terms in an amended consensual plan, including a $230 million settlement, diocese attorney Mark Mintz of Jones Walker LLP said during a Tuesday hearing in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
