The Justice Department would have to publicly release unclassified records relating to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein under H.R. 4405.

The bill is identical to a proposal that Democrats and several Republicans were pushing through the discharge petition process. The House was slated to consider a resolution (H. Res. 581) that would amend an unrelated bill (H.R. 185) with language compelling DOJ to release information about Epstein.
