California Rep. Kiley Loses Committee Spots After GOP Exit (1)

Rep. Kevin Kiley lost his committee assignments after leaving the Republican Party to become an independent, according to messages read on the House floor Wednesday.

The House clerk read messages from Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) and Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Sam Graves (R-Mo.), noting that Kiley’s elections to both panels were “automatically vacated” as of Wednesday.
