NY Threatened With Funding Loss Over Nonresident Truckers (1)

New York risks losing millions in federal highway funding unless it cracks down on commercial driver licenses the Trump administration says it improperly issued to non-residents, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Friday.

The state is the “worst offender” nationwide with over half of the 32,000 licenses in the state issued illegally, Duffy said at a press conference. The state has 30 days to address the issue, he added. New York officials contested the accusation, calling it a political stunt.
