Florida’s legislature passed a new congressional map designed to deliver as many as four additional seats for Republicans — if it withstands court scrutiny and a midterm environment working against them.
The map, which originated from the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), advanced to his desk after votes of 83-28 in the state House and 21-17 in the state Senate on Wednesday. Republicans have overwhelming majorities in both chambers.
