Florida’s special session, which wrapped up prematurely on Wednesday, handed Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis a redistricting victory and signaled where power sits in the state heading into midterm elections that will determine who controls Congress.

The new congressional map lawmakers advanced, if it survives legal challenges, offers a lifeline to a shaky Republican majority in the US House where DeSantis was once a member.
