House GOP Sends Immigration Enforcement Funding Bill to Trump

House Republicans passed a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration enforcement components for over three years, clearing their path to focus on advancing yet another ambitious GOP-only budget bill this summer.

The House passed the legislation, dubbed “reconciliation 2.0" (S. 2; BGOV Bill Analysis) 214-212 Tuesday. The bill would provide $69.5 billion to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection to cover their operations for the rest of President Donald Trump’s term.
