A Senate Republican key to Obamacare premium tax credit negotiations said he is pitching a proposal to Democrats this week, even as the Senate is consumed by a government funding fight.
Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) said any movement depends on whether Senate Democrats will accept the offer. “They gotta tell me whether they can sell their conference on it,” he said Wednesday.
Moreno, along with Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine), have been working across the aisle—including over recess—to strike a deal to extend and modify enhancements to the tax credits.
