Korea Says Fact Sheet With US on Trade, Security Finalized (2)

South Korea and the US signed a formal trade deal, giving Seoul’s automakers and chipmakers greater certainty over their export plans while also deepening defense cooperation and bringing the two longtime allies even closer.

Earlier in the day, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said a joint fact sheet outlining trade and security terms agreed with the US was finalized.

“The trade negotiations and security consultations between South Korea and the US — one of the most critical variables for our economy and national security — have been officially concluded,” Lee told reporters in a briefing Friday.
