Lawmakers Wait on OMB for Stopgap Plans
Tension is building over a long-awaited stopgap measure to fund the government beyond Sept. 30, as lawmakers wait on a plan from the White House.
Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought still hadn’t sent lawmakers a list of proposed “anomalies” — or changes to spending levels in a bill that would otherwise keep agency budgets level — as of late yesterday. That proposal should have arrived last week, but OMB officials have promised they’ll come “shortly,” Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) told reporters yesterday.
