Republicans Dominate the House’s 5,027 Earmarks

Four out of every five House Republicans have earmarks in their chamber’s fiscal 2026 government-funding bills, as even some of the most enthusiastic of the cost-cutting DOGE movement seek to send federal funds back home.

A record-setting 174 out of 219 House Republicans stand to bring home more than $4.8 billion in earmarked funds in their chamber’s fiscal 2026 appropriations bills, according to an exclusive Bloomberg Government analysis of the proposed spending.
