Senate Democrats Warn Money for Transportation Projects at Risk

Roads, ports, railroads and transit will suffer nationwide unless Congress approves advanced funding for transportation like it did under the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law, according to a Wednesday letter signed by 44 lawmakers in the Senate Democratic conference.

“Programs not funded through the Highway Trust Fund are most at risk of devastating cuts” in the upcoming fiscal year, reads the letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and top appropriations leaders from both parties.
