Senate appropriators advanced two bills Thursday to fund the Departments of Commerce, Justice, and Veterans Affairs, despite ill will over partisan battles on federal spending.
The Senate Appropriations Committee voted 19-10 to advance its Commerce-Justice-Science bill for fiscal 2026, ending a week-long impasse in a fight over funds for the FBI’s new headquarters.
