Senators Expected to Vote on Withholding Their Pay in Shutdowns

A resolution to block pay for senators during government shutdowns is expected to get a floor vote, its lead sponsor Sen. John Kennedy said.

The Senate Rules Committee postponed a planned vote on the measure (S. Res. 493) this week. Kennedy said he pulled it because some senators asked for additional time to review it. He said he expects the committee to reschedule a markup of the bill after senators return from Thanksgiving recess.
