Short List for Senate Health Panel Chair Includes Two Doctors

Two Senate Republican doctors, Rand Paul and Roger Marshall, may end up angling for the top GOP spot on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee next year.

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), the current chairman who is also a physician, lost his primary race May 16. His loss will create a vacancy for the chairmanship, if Republicans keep control of the Senate in the November elections.
