President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown coupled with his new tax law threaten increased costs and potential health risks for Americans across the country, health care advocates warn.

The newly enacted Republican tax and spending law will limit immigrant participation in Medicaid, Medicare and subsidized health insurance. The restrictions come as Trump’s administration has already created fear and confusion around using health resources for some immigrants, health researchers and immigrant advocates say.
