WHERE THINGS STAND IN ILLINOIS: Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton defeated Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly in the Democratic primary for Senate, putting her in position to succeed retiring Sen. Dick Durbin (D) after the November general election in the Democratic-leaning state.
“Tonight we showed what’s possible when you listen to the people and give the people what they want,” said Stratton, who had 40% of the vote compared with 33% for Krishnamoorthi and 18% for Kelly.
